Landscape Commissions

Choose exactly what you want
Picture
Most people think of portraits when they consider commissioned paintings, but it is possible to commission a picture of almost any subject. For instance, I have painted a person's favourite "peaceful spot" by their local lake, for their retirement present. Here are some other ideas:
  • A favourite holiday view (as shown here)
  • Your house
  • A scene from a regular walk
  • A painting to fit a particular spot in your home
I can also create paintings in a similar style (or of a similar subject) to a previous picture of my own.
Please feel free to email or call, and we can talk about some ideas. Even if you are not sure exactly what you want, between us we may well be able to come up with something suitable.
If you have a photograph you would like me to paint, please don't worry if it's not perfect. One of the benefits of a painting is taking a little artistic licence. I can usually leave out things you don't want included (eg electricity pylons) and enhance colours if the lighting is poor.

"Something Sunny"

This customer wanted a painting to remind him of summer walks. We looked at a selection of my own reference material and chose the medium (acrylic on canvas). He was delighted with the result.

House Portrait

This "house portrait" was a surprise birthday present for a client's friend. Having surreptitiously taken some reference photos I completed the painting in secret before the big day.

Favourite View

Having bought one of my forest paintings, this client commissioned a picture of her favourite childhood woods. We looked at a range of her own photos and selected a view that would work well as a painting.

This large triptych was commissioned for a specific wall in the client's newly refurbished house. It consists of 3 panels, each 40cm by 80cm, which can be hung closely spaced or with a small gap. I discussed the client's needs with her and suggested a range of images from which she choose this lovely view of a woodland path.
